Hongslo's dwarf cichlid
One of the few Apistogramma where the wild fish is already intensely red, and the species most heavily line-bred for more of it. The commercial colour strains have the same reputation for fragility as line-bred German blue rams, and for the same reasons.

What keeping this species involves
Wants genuinely soft acidic water to breed and heavily line-bred stock is less robust than wild-type. Both problems are avoidable and neither is visible in the shop.
